We Are Proud to Present

THE 2024 ELK CUP TOURNAMENT

Everything you need to know.

  • The Elk Cup is our biggest open, 2v2 tournament of the year! It progresses with two phases:

    • The first phase is played in ‘Swiss Style’, with each team guaranteed 5 games to try and prove their mettle and tact.

    • The finals are a short, double elimination tournament featuring the top 8 teams from the previous phase.

  • This is for people who have a solid grasp of combat (know the D&D 5e system) and have played in at least a few exhibition matches (know our system). Although questions are ok, we are on a time limit when we play, and you are expected to know your stuff. Other than that, everyone is welcome!

  • If you don’t have a teammate for this 2v2 tournament, you are still very much welcome to join! We provide both a team matchmaking services and space on our discord for you to self advocate, if you’d rather. Lets get you set up with someone around your experience level and vibes.

  • Team Registration: Begins April 28th. Ends May 11th. Register below, using the website form provided.

Sheet Submission: Character sheets are due May 11th. Once submitted, they will be checked—all finals edits due May 17th.

(Once you register, we will contact you with information about how to send in your character sheet.)

  • We are using D&D 5e and the current 2.1 DND PVP Rulesets for this tournament.

Character Selection: Each person submits 1 character sheet with registration. No changes may be made to this sheet once the tournament begins.

Level 6 - 2v2: As fits our balanced set, let's push it to the limit this season.

Public Sheets and Resources: Character sheets will be available for everyone to see before the tournament. During a match, all character information is also public (hp, resources, ect).

Competitive PVP Referees: One is required for play, as they will set up, moderate and record the match in our logs once complete.

Maps: Every team may veto 1 of the possible 5 maps. Next, a Dx will be rolled to determine the battle map (Depending on the remaining number of maps after vetoes).

  • Teams must play all of their games to be considered for the finals.

Swiss: Each team has 2 weeks to schedule and play every match. Teams only play one game in this 2 week period. Teams have 5 games to play, for a total of 10 weeks.

Double Elimination Finals: Each team has 1 week to schedule each of their matches. Teams will play up to 4 or 5 games (if they make it to the finals without getting eliminated), for a total of 4-5 weeks.

  • Keep your turns brief:

Although minimal help and strategic advice is allowed on the table between teammates. This is competitive play, and you should have an idea of what you want to do. Taking too much time to either speak or type in secret degrades the experience and extends the match unnecessarily past expectations. The players and those watching, thank you.

    Respect and appreciate the referee:

Please don’t argue with negativity. Referees do have the final say–This is true as is the trust we have in those with the tag. Please feel free to bring up considerations, as we all err. But after the quick discussion, what is ruled is, and the match must move on. If there is an issue with this and you need some help, please message @fred#4218 after the match.

    Recording:

Games may be recorded and posted online. Your permission for this will be taken for granted upon initial registration. Sharing in fun will be an important part of allowing our community to grow together. You will be clearly informed about everything prior to being recorded or streamed.

  • Read this page and fill out the form below; only once for each team (both players do not need to fill one out).

Once this is complete, you will be messaged on Discord and asked for character sheets. These must be in, to have your spot saved and be fully registered.

Will these names enter the Hall of Heroes?
