Referees

All good projects begin with good people, and DND PVP referees will always be our foundation. As what we facilitate varies, so does our need for a broad spectrum of referees; from casual exhibition vibes, to highly competitive tournament play.

With all of us who help make this thing happen, referees will only be asked to give what time they decide they want to give. This means you ref when and how you want.

  • Join us on this adventure! It is where all referees begin their journey, regardless of capacity or intension. If you just want to host games you play in for fun, that's great! If you want to be the high stakes comp ref, hosting and celebrated in our most epic video content, that's great! It's an honourable post with much to gain and amazing way to support your community.

Earned with the Exhibition Referee role:

    • VTT privileges—Can run exhibition games for themselves and others. When you're a exhibition ref in a match, you don't need to find another!

    • Discord Role—Referee and wider development channels become accessible in our discord.

    • Join the red team—Let us celebrate you with the colour we love (Red name on our discord).

What is needed to become an Exhibition Referee?

    • Decent orientation to the VTT, D&D and our rulesets—It’s not about knowing all of the things. It’s about knowing where to find more about them and how to seek support.

    • Hosting and DND PVP culture—Being an Exhibition Referee is more about the vibe than it is about knowledge.

  • So what's next? Hosting and facilitating the competitive space is not as wild as it seems. Used for qualifying tournaments and other events, these refs bring what we do to the next level. It's the fast-track to easy, personal comp scheduling, the path towards a deeper understanding of our broader development circles and an amazing way to give back to the amazing competitive aspects of community being forged here.

Earned with the Competitive Referee role:

What is needed to become an Competitive Referee?

    • Solid orientation to the VTT, D&D and our rulesets. It's about being able to have and grow into confidence about making decisions and tracking the game at a competitive level—It’s not about knowing all of the things. It’s about knowing where to find more about them and how to seek support.

    • Hosting and DND PVP culture—Being a Competitive Referee is also about the vibe and holding the competitive space in check. We want to cultivate both strength and honour.

  • This is how we recognize excellence in the craft. Although all Tournament Referees will require elements of both, we want to appreciate and welcome the duality that comes with this role—knowing the game systems, and knowing how to hold a dramatic space. This is the referee special forces, everyone refined in their craft.

Earned with the Tournament Referee role:

    • The acknowledgement of deep trust—The respect to referee the most competitive tournaments and matches. From mini tournament finals, to future invite only tournament of champions, these humans will lead us to infinity and beyond.

    • Content Verified—Contribution and excellence given to legend (if desired) through official DND PVP published game content. These are the refs you will see running videos we produce.

    • Discord Role—The red doesn't get any deeper. Your community, and the gods of war, are proud of what you've become. We are honoured to have such strength on our side.

What is needed to become an Tournament Referee?

    • Excellent orientation to the VTT, D&D and our rulesets—Knowing the rules is one thing, knowing the rules is another. No one is perfect, but these people really work hard to know their shtuff.

    • Hosting and DND PVP culture—This is the place for those who don't mind the spotlight, representing our community in the most dramatic spaces. We must draw out positive competitive culture in not only the contestants, but all the witnesses to the honoured arena.
